Taebaek - The Second Highest City in South Korea

Taebaek is a city located in the eastern part of South Korea, known for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. It is famous for being home to the Taebaeksan Mountain Range, which includes the iconic Mount Taebaeksan. This region offers breathtaking scenery, especially during the winter months when it becomes a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts.

In addition to its natural attractions, Taebaek has a fascinating history, particularly in relation to coal mining. The city was once a major center for coal production, and remnants of this industrial heritage can still be seen today, adding to the area’s unique charm.

Taebaek also hosts various cultural events and festivals throughout the year, including the Taebaek Sunflower Festival and the Taebaek Snow Festival, which attract visitors from all over the country.

Overall, Taebaek is a wonderful destination for those seeking outdoor adventure, cultural experiences, and a glimpse into South Korea’s industrial past.

WHAT'S SPECIAL

Normally, you can get dakgalbi (spicy grilled chicken) all over Korea, but Taebaek is the only place that serves dakgalbi with soup. The soup version from Taebaek tastes 100 times better than the regular grilled dakgalbi.

Because of the soup and broth, before you finish the last few sips, you have to try the sesame seaweed fried rice made with the remaining soup. It’s the best fried rice you’ll ever have, even if you don’t usually like rice.

Dinner at Korean Retro Pub – Like the ones you see in dramas, where Koreans go after work with friends or colleagues. It’s a drinking spot with a great atmosphere and amazing Korean food.

Popular local bar that Koreans love. It offers a wide variety of food and drinks, including appetizers, main dishes, side dishes, drinks, and desserts.

What's included in $499 for one pax?
